DC Charter School Alliance Names Nicole Travers Senior Director of School Support & Program Data

Washington, DC – Today, the DC Charter School Alliance, an advocacy organization that supports and represents the robust charter school sector in our nation’s capital, announced that Nicole Travers has been named Senior Director of School Support & Program Data. Travers will support the DC Alliance’s advocacy efforts and numerous programs to support the city’s public charter schools.

“I’m excited to begin this new journey to continue enhancing education for our city’s students alongside so many amazing public charter school leaders,” said Nicole Travers, DC Charter School Alliance Senior Director of School Support & Program Data. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role and look forward to supporting our great network of schools as they work to strengthen their communities and help their students thrive.”

Travers joins the DC Charter School Alliance with more than 16 years of experience in the DC public charter school system. She comes to the DC Alliance after a long tenure at IDEA Public Charter School, serving in numerous roles, ranging from summer school teacher, ELA teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and the top Senior Executive Leader.

Travers earned her Bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University. She also earned a year-long Fulbright Teaching assignment in La Chatre, France following graduation, where she had the opportunity to explore education through an international lens. Her passion for educating diverse students enhanced after her return to the District when she first joined IDEA PCS. Travers also holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from American University and a second Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Trinity University. She also excelled in a leadership training program with New Leaders in 2016.
