As Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Nicole Travers supports the DC Charter School Alliance’s advocacy and school support efforts, leading and contributing to initiatives that help funnel critical resources to public charter schools across the District of Columbia.
Nicole joined the DC Charter School Alliance in 2023, bringing more than 16 years of experience in the DC public charter school sector. Prior to joining the Alliance, she spent a significant portion of her career at a Ward 7 public charter school, where she held a wide range of roles, including summer school teacher, ELA teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and ultimately Senior Executive Leader.
Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and completed a year-long Fulbright Teaching Assistantship in La Châtre, France, following graduation. This international experience deepened her understanding of education through a global lens and strengthened her commitment to serving diverse student populations upon her return to the District. Nicole further honed her leadership skills through New Leaders training and systems leadership development with Cambiar Catalyst.
