Celebrating 30 Years of Legacy & Leadership
Join us for the DC Charter School Alliance’s biennial gala, the sector’s largest gathering of school leaders, policymakers, and supporters, as we reflect on 30 years of progress and look ahead to the future of public charter education in Washington, DC.
Friday, November 20 | The Showroom (1099 14th St NW)
Thirty years ago, visionary school founders—supported by partners like the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation—believed deeply in DC's young people and built an entire sector from the ground up.
Today, we celebrate the people who made that vision possible and the future they're still helping shape.
Join us for the DC Charter Alliance 30 Years Gala as we honor three decades of impact and look ahead to the next chapter.

The DC Charter Alliance 30 Year Gala brings together 400 school leaders, policymakers, philanthropic partners, and community supporters to mark three decades since the passage of the DC School Reform Act.
The evening will feature live music, a student performance showcase, a photo experience, and an awards presentation honoring the individuals and organizations whose contributions have shaped the sector.
This year, we are proud to recognize the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation — whose investment of over $13.4 million since 1990 has touched schools across the District — and the founders who built DC's charter schools from the ground up.
